Licensing
Last updated: December 2024
Overview
This document explains the licensing terms for skills purchased or subscribed to on llmskills.ai. Understanding these terms helps you know what you can and cannot do with skills.
User License
When you purchase or subscribe to a skill, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- Use the skill via MCP with any compatible AI client
- Use outputs generated by the skill for personal or commercial purposes
- Access the skill as long as your subscription is active (for subscription skills) or indefinitely (for one-time purchases)
Restrictions
You may not:
- Share your MCP endpoint or account credentials with others
- Attempt to reverse engineer, extract, or copy the skill's methodology
- Resell or redistribute access to skills
- Use skills to create competing products that replicate the methodology
- Remove or alter any attribution to the original creator
Official vs. Inspired Skills
Official Skills
Created by or with authorization from the original methodology owner. These skills carry official endorsement and may include additional benefits like direct support from the creator.
Inspired Skills
Based on publicly available methodologies, frameworks, or creative works. These skills clearly attribute the original source but are not officially endorsed. They represent interpretations and applications of publicly known ideas.
Output Ownership
Outputs generated when you use a skill belong to you. You may use these outputs for any purpose, including commercial use, subject to any applicable laws or third-party rights. The skill's underlying methodology remains the property of the creator.
Creator Rights
Creators retain full ownership of their methodology and intellectual property. When you create a skill:
- You retain all rights to your methodology
- You grant llmskills.ai a license to distribute and operate the skill
- You can update, modify, or remove your skill at any time
- Existing subscribers continue access until their subscription period ends
Intellectual Property Claims
If you believe a skill infringes on your intellectual property rights, please contact us at legal@llmskills.ai with details of your claim. We take IP concerns seriously and will investigate and respond appropriately.
Termination
Your license to use a skill may be terminated if:
- You violate these licensing terms
- Your subscription lapses and is not renewed
- The skill is removed from the marketplace (with appropriate notice)
- Your account is terminated for violating our Terms of Service
